What could it cost to heat your home using Mini-Splits.

Compare your current heat with mini-splits. Then explore how solar could contribute to your annual heating bill.

WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS · YOUR HOME. YOUR NUMBERS.

Start with your home

Rough estimate: 45,000 BTU of delivered heat per square foot per year. A home assessment is more accurate.
85% is an example. Use your equipment’s seasonal efficiency if known.
30¢ is an illustrative input, not a quoted utility rate. Include supply and per-kWh delivery charges. Use a heating-season average; exclude fixed monthly charges. A COP of 2.8 means 2.8 units of heat per unit of electricity. Performance depends on weather, equipment and installation.

This is a full space-heating replacement comparison, not a system-sizing calculation. It excludes cooling, water heating, backup fuel, fixed utility charges, maintenance, incentives, escalation and all equipment purchase, installation and financing costs. Solar is a selected percentage of the annual mini-split energy bill, not a claim about winter production, physical grid imports or outage capability. Export value and credit usability must be checked for your account.

What about a battery?

A battery can store daytime solar for evening use and support selected loads during an outage. It does not create extra solar energy. Its value depends on export credits, losses, operating settings, cost and backup needs. Storage savings are not added to this comparison. Ask NES which equipment your backup system could actually run.
